It is not enough to stare up the steps - we must step up the stairs.

We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once.

Stop talking. Start walking.

This is fun.

It is fun. I have to laugh at myself for thinking things would be so hard. I guess there is no trying to motivate yourself, there is just getting up and doing it. Everything before that is just excuses.

But that's the whole purpose of all the replies in this thread. Everyone is motivated
by different things for different reasons from a kick in the ass to lighting
yourself on fire...Oops, got a little carried away there but you catch my drift.
Good luck and hop to it.

Thanks, I guess I was trying to say I sometimes use things as an excuse for not just doing what needs to be done. I'll use preparation as the ultimate roadblock. What I'm starting to realize now is that it's often better just to get out there before something is so called "perfected" and improve as you go a long.

Onward with the game of life,

Chris

Default total focus

I find it very effective to have total focus on each task I am doing, regardless of how many tasks I have on my list. It is very easy to get distracted when there's so many things to do, you find yourself thinking forward or backward and the energy is totally diminished, resulting in not getting things done.

Focus on each task completely, trusting that the next task will flow naturally, and you will surely get things done AND be able to relax even while you're doing the tasks! I've done this and it works wonders...

Sometimes, many times, we don't have that luxury of one at a time and then another.
I think it's pop name is "multi-tasking". Some tasks require juggling.
If you don't drop the ball then that's a good thing.

My method is something I call

What
Why
How

It's actually Tony Robbins' method RPM (Results, Purpose, Massive Action) but for once I think I call it something better because mine is the actual question you need to answer to actually work the system.

So... I ask my self, WHAT do I want? WHY do I want it? HOW am I gonna get it?

Use it to incorporate relaxation too? WHAT do you want?... relaxation. WHY do you want it?... so you don't burn out??? to maintain some life balance???
HOW are you gonna get it? blah blah blah...

I find this also helps me to focus on the actions that are most going to contribute to what I really want out of something. This relates back to the 80/20 rule where only 20% of your actions are achieving 80% of the result.

I also don't plan too far down into the HOW, mostly I just focus on the next couple of steps in the HOW and make sure you SCHEDULE it! Yes, schedule the relaxation too!
